ah yes. so my sophomore year of college is over. what a quick year. academically, i did great. got straight a's for the first time in my life fall semester, and i might have done it again this semester. haha i got an A in interpersonal comm by ONE point. my percentage turned out to be 89.8%...and its getting rounded up. yea baby! whew. thank da Lord. forreal though. despite complaints about this school, i had a great time here. as usual, it turns out that not where but who youre with that really matters. yay for all the friends i made while here. i'll miss the nightly random visits to the girls. i'll miss the young lifers...even though ill see them the rest of the month. and kari da shiznit at u of i next year. w00000t. and ajit...well i will see you at home. but yea. sad times, hah.

two years ago when i ended up coming here after gettin rejected from the school i will be attending next fall, i wasnt too happy. i mean i wasnt like mad, but i knew in my mind i wasnt going to stay here. i helped ease thoughts by saying this was the path i was to take, that this was God's course for me, and that it was all for the best. and it was all probably was for the best. somehow ive been able to find the motivation to apply myself and get 4.0's, which i never did in high school. of course i made great friends here too, good and deep ones. and most of the people live in springfield too...so thats even better. haha yea....

i dont know if i wish that i would have been more outgoing and social while i was here. i dont think it matters. im leaving in two days and im very very satisfied with what i have done with my time here at SIUE. well...SIUE doesnt matter. I should say im very satisfied with what i have done with my time with the friends ive made. hannah beth susan marci jessica ashley abby (all girls....interesting), ill miss them the most...... tyler ajit and matt dont really count, since i hang out with y'all all the time at home. hehhe. hmmm....when i reflect back on high school, i sometimes wish i would have had less friends but more stronger relationships, instead of knowing everyone and having just a few strong relationships ya know? (andrea does). i dont think i realized i was doing what i wished to do here until just now. well thats pretty neat.

most definitly nothin but love for the girls of 513 1A. the entire law can be summed up in a single command; 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Galatians 5:14. yaaaay for my neighbors, i love them. im gonna miss sitting in those old stinky comfortable couches, riling hannah and beth up by laughing at them, or being freaked out by jessicas random noises and being amused by marci's accent. awww, good times :)

hahaha...tomatoes and tomahawks! and that evil atom bomb! cuh cuh cuh!

i hope young life has been fun and made an impact on the eville students. i hope beth and susan and lauren can keep it going next year. i hope and pray.

jason silvey, lisa keys, and kevin mcleary might be 3 of the coolest teachers ill ever have.

no more TPC for awhile :(. ill be far far away. my only tafers that have lived close to where i live...sad. well at least we got 1 year together. hehe...

yea....good times. im taking down all of my pictures tomorrow. i have 32 pictures in frames on my walls in my room. 32. i have 25 more that i have taped to the wall. wow. i need to get some more printer ink...8x10's of your friends and family are the best wallpaper anyone could ever have. tomorrow morning will be the last time i wake up to all of those pictures here at siue. that really makes me sad.

I leave here with 2 years of fun memories and great times. well...its time to look forward. 3months and a few weeks of what i hope to be endless fun await. TAC and TAF are on my mind, along with the possibility of young life camp and a summer class! oh and working at the tennis center again. and hopefully not the ice cream place...::shakes head::...goo. yea. i need to go to bed. night yall. i hope you enjoyed my most eloquent reminiscence and relfection of the past. ahhhhh!!!

hahaha. ok. heres a letter to my school editor about tonights events....yea....

I think the SIUE campus police has a major problem on their hands. They need to get their priorites straight.

Around 11:45 Friday night, I was leaving the UC after a wholesome night of ping-pong. Yes that's right, ping-pong, not parties and drinking it up on a Friday night, but ping-pong. So as we are walking to my friends car outside, he grabs an old wooden chair that was sitting outside of the UC. So yes, he brought it along with us and we put it in his trunk. We were driving back to Cougar Village and we decide to pull over on University Drive, put the chair in the grass median, and take a picture with the chair, just for fun. So we did, and then we went back to Cougar Village, leaving the chair in the median. We thought it would be funny if people drove by and saw a random wooden chair, maybe add a little spice to this school. But I guess thats a bad thing.

When we parked in Cougar, an undercover cop had seen everything and began questioning us as we got out of the car. He was on the phone with other officers, and two of them came. So now we have three police officers questioning three males for TAKING A CHAIR. AN OLD WOODEN CHAIR. Nah, lets forget about all of the underage drinking that the police knows goes around on this campus, but sure, lets go after three guys, who don't even drink, for simply moving a wooden chair. The police told us we had just commited a theft. But the chair was already outside, all we did was move it somewhere else outside while still ON CAMPUS. The cops said it was stealing because we "transported it from one place to another in (our) car." Uh...we moved it from outside, to somewhere else outside, which is still on campus, in plain sight, not off somewhere in the woods, unlike our Rock. Hey how about you work on that case instead? Rock filled with tradition or a single WOODEN CHAIR. Or maybe you should be working on that underage drinking, instead of requiring THREE policemen to question three guys on moving, I'm sorry for redundance, A WOODEN CHAIR. It is ridiculous that they needed that much manpower to question us for something so insignificant as...a single wooden chair.

The first two cops were nice guys, good cops. But when the third cop came up. He asked us to tell our story to him, and we did. His reaction? "That story is crap, you guys could at least come up with a better one." Um, ok. Hey Mr. Tough Policeman, how about you ask the other officer who witnessed the whole thing and see how close his story is to ours? Oh yes you would find out they are the exact same! But I digress. The other officers continue to question us in a good manner. But then at the end, the same third officer says "Wait, lets just go ahead and write them a ticket, I haven't wrote a single ticket all day." Whoa whoa whoa, so it is BAD to have a law-abiding campus where the police can't even give out tickets? I don't know, I would imagine the Dean would be proud to have a campus full of law-abiding students who do not commit actions worthy of tickets and citations (minus my friends and I of course, we crazy hooligans, who are all on the Dean's List I might add). Mr. Third Policeman should get his priorities straight, is it best that there would be no need to write tickets and to have a good, law-abiding campus, or to have the opposite where ticketable offenses are all around for the cop to write out?

As much as the police believes this was a stupid "prank", it wasn't. They even made fun of us for pulling "such a dumb prank, not even a good one." Oh dang, I guess I better go take the new Rock to get their respect right? Some of the cops really need to get with it. Don't be so hard on three good students if you're not going to be hard on others who do other activities that are much more illegal, possibly much more consequential, and much more common.

Sincerely,
Jonathan R. Lee
Sophomore

To the editor - The police confiscated my camera and they are going to print out the picture. its probably too dark, but just so you know, the police will be printing out a copy.

yea..............how ridiculous is that?!?!?!

ah yeas, i dreary and rainy day. these crazy april drizzles on jonizzle. so i went to see better luck tomorrow with tyler matt and hannah tonight. it was pretty good, kinda disturbing, but yea. i will have to watch it again, sitting behind a woman with big hair wasnt the best, hehe. we watched it at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel Cinema. it was niiiice, when we walked out they had like a butler with a silver tray of mints and chocolates. amazing. hah.

my paper on taiwanese independence is getting a little lengthy. ill post it up somewhere for yall later. ill just need to find the energy to make it good, since i only need a D+ on it to get an A in the class, hehe.

much to do much to do, and too much time is spent playing ncaa football. the lastest gimmick is creating teams made up of ESPN people, like dan patrick as your running back, charlie steiner and bob ley as linemen, michael wilbon and rich eisen as linebackers, stuart scott as a cb, peter gammons as the kicker...haha yea its fun.

must be productive tomorrow, must be....

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? i mean EVERYTHING ive ever had official has had that #, how has it gone unnoticed by everyone?? my drivers license is wrong, my student id is wrong, all my bills are wrong......what in the heck?!?!?! and whos # have i been using then?!?! this is all funked up. ill fix it all friday. but in the meantime, ive had to write my SSN down on like 3 things...what do i put!?!?!? the old one where i have everything under...or the new one which the national government has me listed as??!?! what a healthy weekend! haha yeeesss....aside from the fourteen tacos, the 2nd trip to tacobell the next day, the 11 donuts from krispy kreme, and the hot wings....

ok yea....not so good for the body.

but hey i was active...broomball saturday night. my non-yellow team won, woot woot! we had a deadly combination in goal (which yours truly was 50% of) and some potent offense. woot woot! my knees are all bruised up now though, as i would quickly drop to them to make saves, and well the ice isnt too soft for that. and my booty hurts too, cuz my wallet was in the back pocket and i landed on it multiple times. poopy.

and tonight, sand volleyball!!! heck yea it was fun. but the sand was really really cold without the sun to keep it warm. haha yea...but my team won best of 3 again! go beth tyler and me. hannah ajit and matt aint got nothin'. BOOYAH.

my just hit my knee against the bottom of my desk. owwee :(

ok now this day was good of course with the news of my acceptence, but it sure didnt start off good (yea yea i know thats bad grammar and it should be "well")

so im sleeping. its 730am. i went to bed 3.5 hours ago due to a late night of studying. and then there are these knocks on the door. and more knocks. my head lifts, eyes still closed, not really know whats going on. i hear tyler come out of his room and go to the front door, hear him open it, hear some voices. dont really know who it is in my state of half-conciousness, but i guess its beth hannah or marci over at our apt. then i look at my clock and realize its 730. i dont realize that they would never be over here that early.

so who was it!?!?! well i was about to drift back to sleep, since it was tough with sunlight peering through my windows into my face. but before i could rejoin lala-land. i hear a buzzing noise. a loud buzzing noise. WHAT?!!?! why is someone in my apartment making the noise?!?! i still fail to remove myself from my cozy bed however to discover what is going. anyways, the noise is just to f-ing annoying to be able to fall back asleep, especially since they are making the noise in the bathroom, which is only about 3 feet from my head on the other side of a thin door. yea ok whatever. so its been about, id say a good half hour and there is still noise. then theres a knock on my door. OH YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME.

-"Maintenance here, we need to check your light"
-"Um...the light is right above my bed and im trying to sleep..."
-(opens the door and peers in) "Oh hey i can get to that, you can just stay in your bed"
-"..." "um, no thats ok ill just get up..." (as opposed to having a strange man on a ladder over my bed while im laying in it...)
-disgruntled, blind, and 12% concious Jon walks to the living toom to just stand.

so now im out in my living room. the light fixture on the ceiling has been taken down, all the lights in the apartment are on, and apparently there is another lady there checking out something in our kitchen, i didnt really know since i was blind, but i later figured out it was the switchbox. but yea, i ask her what they are doing and she says they are going around and checking the wiring in the apts. right...i ask her for a letter informing the tenants of this. theres a phone number on it. good. i will yell at them. the guy finished in my room, and then proceeds to tylers room. matt was "lucky" enough to have woken up before all of this and gone off to work. so yea, i go back to my room. there no way im gonna be able to sleep so i just sit and go online and blah blah. they leave. i go out, tyler comes out too. we discuss the stupidity of what happened and what the other missed etc. I called the number. i, rather politely, told them that it is ridiculous and stupid to schedule HOUR LONG maintenence checks in apartments at a college at 730 in the morning. ESPECIALLY since its the month of april and students (ergo myself) have hard quizzes the next day. and i kept reiterating the 730 part. and my lack of sleep.

Theyre LUCKY i was able to fall back asleep. the secretary was amused by me. not mocking, but yea. she said shed pass the word along to the housing director. i told her i would glady talk to him about the ridiculousness of the situation. i galdy gave her my name and phone number as well. however, i forgot to mention that this is why people leave this school, BECAUSE THE STAFF IS INEPT. and later on in the day i got in to UofI. SO SCREW YOU SIUE HOUSING/MAINTENENCE STAFF. you guys really need to get some more training.

well ok. now i have yet another story to share! 1130, tyler and i make a late wendys run. i order chicken nuggets and fries. my total is $2.43 and i give them a 20 dollar bill and 43 cents. so yea. i dont get my change back. um ok. so we tell the girl that i gave her a 20.
"you did?"
"yes"
"oh"
"..."

so she gets the manager, and well, i guess they must have not trusted us, because they recounted ALL the money in the drawer, and then finally after that gave me my 18 dollars. we sat there, food in car, line behind us, waiting for my change. I gave the girl a single $20 bill and change. OF COURSE YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO GIVE ME BACK CHANGE IF I GIVE YOU ONE BILL. dont count $2 bills. noone uses them. ;asdk;lak;ldsk;aslkasd;. i shake my head and go dot dot dot at these people.

hopefully i will have run ins with more intelligent folk starting tomorrow and at u of i.

our sad sad country. stupid stupid stupid war. yea. read some articles at margarets blog. If youre american, go read the articles, take advantage of freedom of press. Bush needs to read them. One wish right now? I wish i could sit down and talk to bush, and i would ask him to tell me why this war is justified, when we have a lot of opposition from many countries, why he thinks saddam is a clear and present danger, why we arent focusing more on the forgotten war in afghanistan. You do all realize the United States is in two seperate wars right? Yea we are.

crap this all is. oh hey now the bush administration thinks this war will go "longer than expected". oh good job, way to be arrogant and think iraq will be a pushover. hmm, interesting, were afraid that saddam and his regime are strong and scary enough to carry weapons of mass destruction and rule with an iron fist, yet we think they are going to be a pushover in war. thats some high-quality common sense right there. but hey who am i to judge? seriously, im just a regular 19year old american citizen, not a high ranking goverment official. But hey, y'all hear about all the british officials resigning? good for them. get some nuts tony blair, tell gw to shutup, maybe he will listen. ok too harsh. but yea. please gw, come eat dinner with me or something so we can talk. i dare you to.

what i would like to do now though, is find some pro-war articles, so like i get both sides ya know? it is supremely important that we all keep open minds and dont get too enraged like anti-war protestors getting violent (ridiculously dupid), or me telling blair to get some nuts and tell bush to shutup, cuz yea, bush has to have SOME intelligence right? i hope. May cooler heads prevail. and open ones as well. if anyone knows, SEND ME SOME PRO-WAR ARTICLES. i need to read them.

senator byrd would be a cool grandpa. and yea, in all reality, im sad to be an American right now. im sad that our executive administration is making all of America look arrogant and cocky. Im sad that it seems like we are all gun-ho about war. im sad that we feel the need to "shock and awe"...i mean really, were shocking and aweing by dropping bombs into cities of people. sure they are government buildings etc, but you tell me there isnt an innocent janitor in there. wow, arent we SO COOL that we can SHOCK AND AWE people with BOMBS that KILL? man oh man, blowing up stuff is awesome! like blowing stuff up at columbine high school! OH WAIT NO THATS STUPID. "Now kids dont go blowing stuff up even though your country does" :) .

ok maybe thats a little out of line. dont go thinking im sad to be an American really, i mean i am right now, but i always love my country. I tell myself if there was ever a need to have a draft, i would go to war. i wouldnt run and flee away. i would die for my country and the people for which is stands. i say that, and i hope i would. but yea, i love America, but im ashamed. i feel the need to talk to people from around the world, tell them not all of us are arrogant and think this war is great. but hopefully, hopefully, they all know this already. Hopefully they have the open mind to know we arent all supporting the decisions and actions of our president and his administartion (sometimes i feel sorry for george w, he really does get all of the blame for this and it might not all be his). They probably already do though, so thats good.

wow, high quality venting.

and of course, i support our troops. I watched We Were Soldiers today for a paper. at the end it showed a marine coming hope, bandaged up in a wheelchair, no one waiting for him at the airport, no family no friends. A mom pulled her kids away when she saw him coming. they were disgusted by him. and that really was how vietnam vets were treated. That made me really really sad.

why is my favorite country so stupid sometimes?

oh and yea, go watch Bowling for Columbine. Michael moore, hes cool too.

we need to find taiwanese-american kids for taf in:

- Wisconsin
- the pittsburgh area.
- anywhere in Indiana.

i mean foseriously, anyone think its weird that TAF is in Indiana, the 3 states bordering Indiana on the east west and north bring in the most tafers, yet we dont have ANY tafers from indiana itself???

in other news...i dont think i have anything else. hah. well week one of march madness was pretty darn good. although all my teams pretty much lost. sad.

Two things we should all do:

1) Eat meat. Cattle belch out 12-15% of all the methane (a greenhouse gas) released into the atmosphere. Quickly, do eat a steak.

2) Vote for Ashlee on the Cosmo contest. Seriously, if you vote for her and she wins I will try my hardest for you to meet her if you come visit me in Springfield. The link to vote HERE. Now GO VOTE!!!

ok ok ok, so now that Jonizzle is done with his itasa timeline and quick social commentary, here are the tidbits:

- Margaret rules. Do you know why Margaret rules? Because she took care of about 20 TAFers. She took CARE of us man.

- Dave rules. Why does Dave rule? Because i got to sleep on his floor.

- Kev Yau is a stud. Why is Kev Yau a stud? He helped Margaret take care of us Friday night. AND he picked Pauline up from the airport. STUD.

- Why do no GA TAFers come? C'mon "Dirty South", wheres your representation?

- I am sad that there was no ginourmous Britney Spears billboard in Times Square.

- Margaret really is super. And she used her powers for awesome. SuperMarge, you rock.

- Margaret's friend Spencer also rules. He left me a comment, HOW COOL IS THAT?

- My phone died on Pauline while I was waiting in Chicago. Pauline, a thousand apologies.

- My Columbia Univ tshirt is sweet, fits perfect and is soft. Ditto for the Barnard hoodie.

- Do you know who is great? Margaret. Interesting enough, the word "great" makes up most of "Margaret". Well hot dog (G), that sure makes sense.

- Margaret's suitemates also equal ULTRA cool girls. not just cool girls. but ULTRA cool girls.

- I got 11.5 hours of sleep last night. thats the same as i got on the whole trip in NYC. I'm not kidding.

- Margaret and I got some dang good pad thai for 6 bucks. Man that sounds good right about now...

- Apple Cidra however does not sound good right now, its not too great (or "margaret-y") after being shipped overseas. You can only have it in the motherland.

- Mar-grrrrrrrrrrrreat!

- If I had one wish for everyone, it just might be that everyone can experience the feeling, the essence, the energy, the love, that can come from being around TAFers.

- Too bad the Honginator and I aren't a couple, cuz the picture of her I took in front of the Columbia Univ. Library would be pretty darn sweet if so. It just oozes of romantic photgraphy. I am SO good at taking pictures now. haha. GO SLIDESHOW!

- Haha I just called Andrea the Honginator. I wonder if she has ever been called that before...

- UMich has TAF Brats. Could UIUC be the TAF CRUSH? No not like taf crushes, but like the Orange Crush. Yay or nay?

- ITASA EC 2004 @ Yale. Which means in CT! Which means staying in Gbury with MKAP! And also means a possible trip to Bristol, CT. Which means, ESPN SPORTSCENTER!!!!!!!!

- This might be the longest random post ever.

- Pictures? You know it.

- I miss you guys.

WOOT WOOT! so im back from ITASA2003@Columbia University in NYC. fosho kiddies, it was pimp. so lets see, my last entry was in the morning after about 5 hours of sleep. so yea that was friday. after i blogged got ready and went out, bought maself a Barnard hoodie and a Columbia tshirt. they is niiiice. im wearing both of them today. the columbia shirt is really soft. haha yes. feels so goooood on my skin. went back to marges and hung out, whilst other tafers left roger and i....::evil eye::.....but yes. met margarets friend smalrus, introduced him to bubble tea, and etc. john d came, as did mengson, and michelle...basically a lot of people that afternoon, and then we went to dinner. we all split up and went to various places with groups, i was with roger, john d, alex, tim, paul, andrea (who was the only girl A LOT of the time...) and some other guys. it was goood. mmmmmm...gyros........yes. after that was the opening ceremonies. more people came, i counted 26 tafers present that i knew of, at least 30 regualr tafers were there...and then after adding in those 1-year 2-year tafers back in the day, that made a good 40 TAFers. awesome! so after ceremonies, went back to marges. man it was tough though, coordinating something for like 20 of us was sucky and frustrating. we ended up hanging out at columbia and such, and it was fine enough. it doesnt matter where you are, but its who youre with that really matters right? right. and so hanging out with everyone is GOOD. and we did it. yaaay. stayed up long into the night playing cards and talking at alex's dorm/suite with andrea, jeff, z, mengson, and his friend from duke. it was good times man. taf is so good. tafers at itasa is so good when all is going...so good. same energy at taf can be felt. see! it only matters who you are with! no one needs to go to some crazy parties.

saturday. workshops. learned stretches in the wushu workshop from alex, these will help in goaltending. other workshops, asian americans in film was cool, and uh yea. bernice was there! haha yeeeess, she did a workshop. yea, that reminds me, tafers are way too clique-y at itasa. haha. WAY TOO CLIQUEY. yea its bad. but so good at the same time. haha yea...i mean taf love rules. lunch was served, and all tafers pretty much sat together. AND THEY SERVED APPLE CIDRA!!! haha poor howa, no apple cidra. but actually it wasnt as good, i guess it loses some flava while being shipped over here from taiwan...hehe. went to the banquet after everything, good food, oh and they had the taiwanese rapper with his Taiwan Song as a guest. hahaha, oh man. jeff roger alex and i think z went up right away to watch in front of the stage, you know be cool and crazy, and it was just them. oh wait karen too. but yea, then i went up, and we were still the only ones standin and cheering. haha it was so much fun, we coulnt hear the guy well or understand him, but we were going CRAZY just for the fun of being crazy and over-excited. then other people came up along with a bunch more tafers, cheering in front of the stage, we got handshakes from the performes, it was F-ING AWESOME...ahhahahahahaa. and TAFERS LED THE WAY! hahaha. oh man, there was this girl rapper too and all of us guys tried really really hard for her to come and touch our hands, haha. so funny man. soooo funny. pure 100% taf fun right there. oh oh oh yea. yea words really cant express what im trying to convey, but yea...hah.

after banquet we helped clean, got autographs from the rappers, and pictures with the girl, haha. i went to daves to pack up, headed over to marges, then we all went to the club. man the club was weird. haha. NYC clubs not like stl clubs. too many f-ing strobe lights. and yea. it was really weird. i little part of me died then, but it shouldnt have. sadness. thats all i will say. sat down with linn, yea didnt do much at the club. but linn is cool. yaaay for linn. yes. we left at 4am, then went through times square. yaaaay! man its really bright there, its really cool to see and walk through, i wish i could have spent more time there. headed back uptown, and went to the seinfeld restaurant. got food there. hehe the inside looks nothing like it does in the show. food was ok. meh. yea...went back to marges and we all hung out in the lobby before we had to leave. hugs hugs, goodbyes goodbyes. tear.

so itasa2003 is over. it was great. i love taf and everything about it. like us taf guys, were so non-like, homophobic around each other. we can put our heads and sleep on a shoulder and not feel odd. i cant do that here at home, with other friends. our walls are totally broken down at taf, wait no no, not at taf, but with tafers. its amazing. simply amazing is all i can say. i want to try to everyday, be the person i am while im around tafers. i want to be like that year round, 24/7, no matter who i am with or where i am. hmm, you know if i accomplish that, it kinda sounds like a accomplish the taf mission statement and vision. impact mankind in unique and compassionate ways. thats all i gotta do. it sounds so easy, but can i do it? gotta love. thats all you gotta do. love love love. unconditionaly. can i do it? i hope. i hope it will be accepted, i hope walls will be broken down here with friends, i hope no one cares if we look stupid or look cool, i hope i dont care if i look stupid or cool. i love you guys. hahahahahahaha. that was so corny. haha. but yea for real, love. i sound redundant. i should go out and try to do what i want to do. all of you tafers reading this, try it to. some of you i think are already doing it. be who you are around tafers all the time.

yea.

thank you God for this glorious glorious day. woot woot! so yeas, jons friday started off waking refreshed even though it was only about 7 hours of sleep. actually, it technically started around 2am when tyler and i heard a lot of squeaking and a banging of something against the wall upstairs....hahaha yea. but yea ok. so off to western civ where we played jeopardy before the test (which was moved back to wednesday!). and who's team won?!?!?! OH YEA THATS RIGHT, TEAM KOOL! WOOHOO! jon and tyler were smart enough to gather a bunch off smart kids into one group, and yes, that led to a victory, and most importantly, 100 extra credit points!! so yea, good class. next was interpersonal comm where i did pretty darn good on a quiz that i studied for 5 minutes before class. and then i was done for the week! yeeeessss.

came back here, watched not one, but TWO episodes of "two guys, a girl, and a pizza place" on the Women's Entertainment channel. haha yea that show is so good, so funny. why did they take it off the air a few years ago?!?! yea i dunno. the goodness continued when i was able to sign up for my first fantasy baseball draft of the 2003 season tomorrow!!! so when i wake up...i can draft!! AAAAHHHH SO MUCH EXCITEMENT!!!

and to continue the goodness that i have been blessed with on this day...all you can eat steak special at ponderosa!!! ooooohhhhh yeeeeeaaaaa. i had 3 steaks. mmmm. well actually they were only marginal, but hey what can you expect for all you can eat steak. besides, they had some good wings at the buffet. and then to send this good day apart from other good days was...a TAF visit!!! yay for alice and emily. boo for all that driving though...especially trying to find alices house. yea that was tough. they took us to chesterfield mall and tyler and i found gifts for matts birthday tomm. haha they are good, AND tyler and i can play with them too! haha yea, but thats not why we got them......eh heh heh.

the rest of the day was filled with various fifa fun, some good baseball rookie studying, Peytons Keeper 2003 getting set up, talking to cool girl julie ashenfelta after she's been MIA, getting excited about itasa with dreafunk, listening to praise music at 2:45am on my headphones, getting plane tickets booked, and last but not least...FULLY RECOVERING FROM SICKNESS.

oh SUCH a good day.

what the eff is going on?!?!?! ok so now a rhode island night club fire kills 75 people. riiiight....so lets see, in the past 2 weeks or so we have had the columbia explosion, the fire at the chicago nightclub killing 21, the south korea subway killing a lot of people, the iranian airplane crashing killing a good 70-some, and now a rhode island fire, and i know there has been more. a lot of f-ing killing happening...

but hey in other news, a read that a lady is suing Loews Cinemas for all those advertisements they play before movies now, which i think is AWESOME. i hate those stupid commercials. "the theater circuit's policy of playing pre-film product commercials amounts to a deceptive business practice because the ads begin at the time advertised as the start of a feature movie." shes suing for her time that is wasted. that is so cool. haha yeas. You can read the full story here.

and its friday! woohoo. matt beth susan hannah and marci are all going home, and ajit is going to visit IC, so yea..pretty much just tyler and i, unless jessica hangs out with us...haha yea....

Reckless Administration May Reap Disastrous Consequences

by US Senator Robert Byrd
Senate Floor Speech - Wednesday, February 12, 2003

To contemplate war is to think about the most horrible of human experiences. On this February day, as this nation stands at the brink of battle, every American on some level must be contemplating the horrors of war.

Yet, this Chamber is, for the most part, silent -- ominously, dreadfully silent. There is no debate, no discussion, no attempt to lay out for the nation the pros and cons of this particular war. There is nothing.

We stand passively mute in the United States Senate, paralyzed by our own uncertainty, seemingly stunned by the sheer turmoil of events. Only on the editorial pages of our newspapers is there much substantive discussion of the prudence or imprudence of engaging in this particular war.

And this is no small conflagration we contemplate. This is no simple attempt to defang a villain. No. This coming battle, if it materializes, represents a turning point in U.S. foreign policy and possibly a turning point in the recent history of the world.

This nation is about to embark upon the first test of a revolutionary doctrine applied in an extraordinary way at an unfortunate time. The doctrine of preemption -- the idea that the United States or any other nation can legitimately attack a nation that is not imminently threatening but may be threatening in the future -- is a radical new twist on the traditional idea of self defense. It appears to be in contravention of international law and the UN Charter. And it is being tested at a time of world-wide terrorism, making many countries around the globe wonder if they will soon be on our -- or some other nation's -- hit list. High level Administration figures recently refused to take nuclear weapons off of the table when discussing a possible attack against Iraq. What could be more destabilizing and unwise than this type of uncertainty, particularly in a world where globalism has tied the vital economic and security interests of many nations so closely together? There are huge cracks emerging in our time-honored alliances, and U.S. intentions are suddenly subject to damaging worldwide speculation. Anti-Americanism based on mistrust, misinformation, suspicion, and alarming rhetoric from U.S. leaders is fracturing the once solid alliance against global terrorism which existed after September 11.

Here at home, people are warned of imminent terrorist attacks with little guidance as to when or where such attacks might occur. Family members are being called to active military duty, with no idea of the duration of their stay or what horrors they may face. Communities are being left with less than adequate police and fire protection. Other essential services are also short-staffed. The mood of the nation is grim. The economy is stumbling. Fuel prices are rising and may soon spike higher.

This Administration, now in power for a little over two years, must be judged on its record. I believe that that record is dismal.

In that scant two years, this Administration has squandered a large projected surplus of some $5.6 trillion over the next decade and taken us to projected deficits as far as the eye can see. This Administration's domestic policy has put many of our states in dire financial condition, under funding scores of essential programs for our people. This Administration has fostered policies which have slowed economic growth. This Administration has ignored urgent matters such as the crisis in health care for our elderly.

This Administration has been slow to provide adequate funding for homeland security. This Administration has been reluctant to better protect our long and porous borders.

In foreign policy, this Administration has failed to find Osama bin Laden. In fact, just yesterday we heard from him again marshaling his forces and urging them to kill. This Administration has split traditional alliances, possibly crippling, for all time, International order-keeping entities like the United Nations and NATO. This Administration has called into question the traditional worldwide perception of the United States as well-intentioned, peacekeeper. This Administration has turned the patient art of diplomacy into threats, labeling, and name calling of the sort that reflects quite poorly on the intelligence and sensitivity of our leaders, and which will have consequences for years to come.

Calling heads of state pygmies, labeling whole countries as evil, denigrating powerful European allies as irrelevant -- these types of crude insensitivities can do our great nation no good. We may have massive military might, but we cannot fight a global war on terrorism alone. We need the cooperation and friendship of our time-honored allies as well as the newer found friends whom we can attract with our wealth. Our awesome military machine will do us little good if we suffer another devastating attack on our homeland which severely damages our economy. Our military manpower is already stretched thin and we will need the augmenting support of those nations who can supply troop strength, not just sign letters cheering us on.

The war in Afghanistan has cost us $37 billion so far, yet there is evidence that terrorism may already be starting to regain its hold in that region. We have not found bin Laden, and unless we secure the peace in Afghanistan, the dark dens of terrorism may yet again flourish in that remote and devastated land.

Pakistan as well is at risk of destabilizing forces. This Administration has not finished the first war against terrorism and yet it is eager to embark on another conflict with perils much greater than those in Afghanistan. Is our attention span that short? Have we not learned that after winning the war one must always secure the peace?

And yet we hear little about the aftermath of war in Iraq. In the absence of plans, speculation abroad is rife. Will we seize Iraq's oil fields, becoming an occupying power which controls the price and supply of that nation's oil for the foreseeable future? To whom do we propose to hand the reigns of power after Saddam Hussein?

Will our war inflame the Muslim world resulting in devastating attacks on Israel? Will Israel retaliate with its own nuclear arsenal? Will the Jordanian and Saudi Arabian governments be toppled by radicals, bolstered by Iran which has much closer ties to terrorism than Iraq?

Could a disruption of the world's oil supply lead to a world-wide recession? Has our senselessly bellicose language and our callous disregard of the interests and opinions of other nations increased the global race to join the nuclear club and made proliferation an even more lucrative practice for nations which need the income?

In only the space of two short years this reckless and arrogant Administration has initiated policies which may reap disastrous consequences for years.

One can understand the anger and shock of any President after the savage attacks of September 11. One can appreciate the frustration of having only a shadow to chase and an amorphous, fleeting enemy on which it is nearly impossible to exact retribution.

But to turn one's frustration and anger into the kind of extremely destabilizing and dangerous foreign policy debacle that the world is currently witnessing is inexcusable from any Administration charged with the awesome power and responsibility of guiding the destiny of the greatest superpower on the planet. Frankly many of the pronouncements made by this Administration are outrageous. There is no other word.

Yet this chamber is hauntingly silent. On what is possibly the eve of horrific infliction of death and destruction on the population of the nation of Iraq -- a population, I might add, of which over 50% is under age 15 -- this chamber is silent. On what is possibly only days before we send thousands of our own citizens to face unimagined horrors of chemical and biological warfare -- this chamber is silent. On the eve of what could possibly be a vicious terrorist attack in retaliation for our attack on Iraq, it is business as usual in the United States Senate.

We are truly "sleepwalking through history." In my heart of hearts I pray that this great nation and its good and trusting citizens are not in for a rudest of awakenings.

To engage in war is always to pick a wild card. And war must always be a last resort, not a first choice. I truly must question the judgment of any President who can say that a massive unprovoked military attack on a nation which is over 50% children is "in the highest moral traditions of our country". This war is not necessary at this time. Pressure appears to be having a good result in Iraq. Our mistake was to put ourselves in a corner so quickly. Our challenge is to now find a graceful way out of a box of our own making. Perhaps there is still a way if we allow more time.

well hello my faithful readers. today twas a good friday. in western civ we got our quizzes back. the class didnt do too hot...hehe, when i got my quiz back the teacher said "very good job"...yet i only got an 87....haha yea. that doesnt say too much though. and you know what makes A LOT of sense???? Napoleon was italian. not french. so yea thats why he was able to conquer big chunks of europe, because he wasnt really french. if he was, we all know he would have lost, cuz i mean, thats what the french do. poor frenchies. here are some of the stupidest groups of people in the worlds history: Puritans with their "witchhunts", McCarthiasts with there crazy commie crap, the KKK, maybe hitler...but he wasnt stupid stupid, just insane...but yea, and then finally like EVERYONE IN THE FRENCH REVOLUTION. i mean seriously...those people were F-ING STUPID. the things they did, the amount of ppl the killed, the insanely large amounts of stupidity, oy oy oy.

but i digress from my rant. took a brief respite today from about 4-6. cooked chicken on the george foreman for dinner. mmm....real meat....deliciousnesses. oh yea ajit and i went shopping, good sale at abercrombie. hahahaha, a few months ago they had this sweater for $119.99. and today when we went...it was 15 dollars. ahahahaha. first of all its rediculous for abercrombie to have a sweater for that much, but I KNOW that some stupid rich kid bought it for the full price. ahahaha. and now its 15 dollars!!! i was going to buy it for the sole purpose of saving $105, but meh, it didnt fit well.

tonight was our 2nd indoor soccer game as well. we got raped again, but the team played much better as a whole. we had 2 own goals. but yea...AJIT SCORED A GOAL!!!! ahahahahaha. go ajit!!! wooooooooo!!! for people who dont know ajit, ajit is more than likely will miss the ball when its passed to him and he has to shoot quick, and of those times, he would probably miss and then fall over 80% of the time, so yea, tonights occurence of ajit scoring the ball on a quick pass had oh, about the same chance of myself turning into a women and having a secret love affair with janet reno. it just doesnt happen too often. its like haleys comet, it only happens every 76 years. GO AJIT!!!!

and hurrahnesses!!! tomorrow adrienne and jak jak are coming to visit!!!! YEEEEEEESSSSSSS! EXCITEMENT!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!! :) :) :)

and i return after my 1 week hiatus. arent you all glad? yes im sure you are. well this past week has been the usual. well actually, tyler and i did go to u of i this weekend to check out apartments. everything was closed unfortunatly, but i DID get some bubble tea (mmmm...), visited ppl, and yea, so it was cool. monday was fun too, had no school because of MLK Day, so marci, hannah, susan, lauren, andrew, matt, and i went to the loop in stl. the girls were on a mission to find a place to get their noses pierced at, but they could not succeed. i did buy some posters though, for 89cents! woohoo. its a baseball one and a golf one, nice and sporty. i used the cardboard i got dumspter diving with jake saturday night when i was home to tape the posters onto, so they can stand up. i love dumpster diving. anyways, back on monday we ate at Blueberry Hill, a pretty famous spot in town, its like a hometown TGI Friday's times 90. lots of great decor, tons of famous visitors, great atmosphere. some pictures:

From l to r, lauren, susan, hannah, marci, andrew, matt, and half of my head. i took this one myself, my arm fully extended out while leaning back, guessing on the aim. oh i am so good.

2 pepsis, a water, and marcinda. this picture was taken using a new method i discovered on my camera like 10 minutes before i took this. go camera!

tpday i spent 120 dollars. yea...i bought fifa2003, im kinda dissapointed that it has no create a player mode though...tyler and were all about that on fifa2002 :( . I also purchased About A Boy and The Bourne Identity on dvd. yay for new dvds, especially for 10 dolla. and on the ebay front, i bought Shaolin Soccer on dvd!!! and i know it has english subtitles, so woohoo! and i also bought a pair of goalie gloves for 13 dollars! indoor soccer starts soon! woohoo! Praise and Worship was good tonight, i havent been there...or actually to church much, in awhile. like only once since before break even began. egads. but yea, it was good. and oh yes, pray for tyty, he had his 7th concussion tonight. so hes like, supposed to be done with contact sports for the rest of his life, but hes a sports guy. and we need him for intramurals next year at u of i... :(

and now some randomness:

- I was watching MTV News the other day and i saw a video clip of some awards show, and there was this guy who looks JUST LIKE ME. i seriously though i saw myself on tv. it was CRAZY. maybe it was the little asian kid from the Little Giants...yea he looked like me back in the day. maybe he grew up and still looks like me...

- Marcinda's moms name is Lucinda. that is too cool. i mean fo real, that is f-ing sweet. LUUCINDAAAAAHHHHH!!!

- Tombstones BBQ Chicken pizza is DELICIOUS. i suggest you all go out and buy it and eat it.

- I discovered that potatoes are sold in cans. i was excited. good potatoes for 70 cents? AWESOME!

- and to continue on the food items, raisin bran really cleans out your system...

- ...and is a bizznitch to get out of your sheets. and why was it in my sheets? oh because girls, namely lauren susan and hannah, are EVIL

- But my friends, revenge is sweet :) Here is a little taste of more of what is to come of one of them, and her name is Hannah Brown.

AHHHHHHHH!!! EVERYONE RUN!!! HANNAH BROWN IS SO EVIL!!!!!!!

abby and katie...and abby is making a beautiful face.

haha...im sorry marci...but seriously, what the heck are you doing in this picture?!?! another beautiful face.

ahahahaa....and i stole this picture from hannah!!! ahahahaha. oh man...these faces are GREAT.

and last but not least...all of the girls making normal faces while doing their nails. beth, lauren, marci, jessica, and hannah, oh and kenny chesney on tv. good times good times.

woohoo!!! taf vcd today! haha yea i FINALLY got it. it was mailed here to school like the day after i left for home for break, and then i finally got to pick it up today. so yea...5 months after taf...and i got the vcd. worth the wait. woohoo!

AND keeping on the taf note...i signed up for itasa ec 2003 today! hurrah. hehe, poor itasa...it will forever be a winter version of taf for me. but hey, the workshops are good. come one come all! and in case any of you all really want to go...www.itasa.org

marcinda got a new sprint cell phone. its pimp. i want a new sprint cell now...but i dunno...i dont think they have good plans. am i right? paycheepoll: should jon keep his verizon plan or switch to sprint and get a cool phone that can hold pictures? yea iiii dunno.

the banana could be extinct in 10 years. oh no! read here.

and last but not least, go here: http://www.musiccdsettlement.com/english/default.htm?
basically, the recording industry is being punished for overcharging consumers for cd's. so yea, whoever has purchased a cd since 1995 is part of the "settlement group", and can file a claim and recieve $20 dollars as compensation for being overcharged. and im sure everyone who reads this has purchased a cd in the past 8 years. so yea...an easy 20 bucks...literally takes no longer than 3 minutes.

tommorrow is friday! YEA!

yeas. so i just got done watching 48 Hours. it was all about the Debra Winger murder that happened like 7 years ago. basically, the springfield cops closed the case and blamed this crazy guy of killing debra winger from the husbands testimony, but it turned out to be the husband who killed the original murderer and killed his wife. so yea, took em 5 years to figure out. but it was WEIRD. the murder happened in adrienne, steve, matts neighborhood, one that im in ALL THE TIME. and they kept showing springfield stuff and a kid from my class, mike makaleh, was shown when the flashed a 911 operator answering a call..all on cbs, on national tv. yea crazy. sad story though, really f-ed. but sadly im more focused on all of the springfield stuff.....bad me. but something else amusing is that back home they had the U of I game on CBS...so no one at home could watch 48 Hours, all about our own town...hah. yea ok. bye bye.

oh wait. trista from the bachelorette is HOT. AND she went to angie huangs high school. hmm...i wonder if she has a younger sister in stl.....hmmm......

finally bought a picture frame for my Arc de Triumphe collage photo. and oh yea, it looks tight. matt and i went to Michaels to buy the frames, 50% off, woohoo. hehe when we were checking out, i wonder if the cashier thought we were kinda eehhhh....cuz we were 2 guys buying a bunch of picture frames and talking about our apartment. and i was wearing clothing from the Gap, haha. and matt looked like he had been tanning because he actually got sunburnt from being outside yesterday. haha yea...we probably looked kinda eeeehhhh...

but yes. met up with Julie Ashenfelta at walmart! yea go julie ashenfelta!!! matt was blowing up some of his pictures, and yea they look really good in 8x10 format. we decided to go see Catch Me If You Can after that. on the Jonny Lee Movie scale of 1 to 20 stars, with jlo's Enough being -5 stars and Shaolin Soccer a super 18 stars, Catch Me If You Can got about 14 stars. Not a bad movie, it had its moments, but it wasnt great. youd expect more from a team of spielberg / hanks / dicaprio / walken / sheen. but yea. it was long, and my butt hurt.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed that he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him he noticed that many times there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it was at the very lowest times in his life. He questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you have said that once I decided to follow you you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During you times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

woooo im back home. the flight was pretty good. the plane was uncrowded and i had no one sitting with me...so i had 3 seats next to a window all to myself! yaaay. i slept and watched signs on the plane. went by decently quick. after i came home i unpacked and such, then headed over to adriennes tonight. yay for adrienne. usual peeps was over. hehe i took a nap over there while they watched tv. yea even though i slept all on the plane im tired and dizzy...so i need to get to bed, especially since it is almost 3am and i need to go work at 11. yea...BUT FIRST! Pictures from Taiwan!!! woot woot!

my dad and i at Sun Moon Lake. it was peeerty.

my ahma (grandma) pondering her next mah-jong move. she's a pimpstress in mah-jong. be careful.

catdogg with a giant mashimarro in hsimen ding. hehe right after i took it i tried to take another picture, but a sales lady told me no pictures. but little did she know i already took one! har har har.

googoo (aunt) Yvonne, cousin Tony, cousin William, googoo Grace, and her husband Paul aroud the dinner table. yea theres always a lot of ppl over for dinner, so my grandma cooks like 8 dishes. so howard and i...well we ate a lot.

howa eating a rice cake dipped in pigs blood. yea...my cousin and his friend also got one. needless to say, i passed on this. I dont think i like pigs blood.

haha on the way to get glamour shots i was sitting in the taxi, looked out the window...and saw this. ahahah. yea...

howa getting his makeup on for the glamour shots. he looks so fake. and also very girlie. way to go howa.

and here is me in my "derelict" outfit. hehe they put "dirrty" makeup on me. Christina, step aside, because JonnyLee is here.

hmm yea...howard, boy george. yea...

ahma, ah-gong (granddad), and googoo grace chattin it up.

me my dad and howard at a restaurant in taipei on my last night. goood food. chinese pancakes! YES! and apple sidra is the SHIZZNIT.

and last but not least, my favorite picture of the trip, howa catherine and i at the night market hsimen ding. why is this my favorite pictures? because it has to do with this:

look! different people, different time, same location! marge chris gill michelle et all took this in the summer. and now us 3 did in the winter. i declare all taf reunions in taipei must now meet at hsimen ding and take a picture in this spot marked by the KFC in the background. haha yea, so cool.

alright, thats all for now. peace out kids. its good to be back home.

yeas. well my trip to taiwan is now over. howard left an hour ago and now im chillin, pulling the all nighter so i may sleep on the plane. so yesterday we went back pick out our glamour shots. so funny, ahahaha. yea they are good. i got 84 wallets, i hope thatll be enough. for some reason i think it might not be. hehehe howard has one thats SO FUNNY. i laugh everytime i think about it. oh man...ahahah. go shower shots. um...i mean. yes. anyways, last night we went to New York New York, a mall here in taipei. hmm yea way too high end for howard and i. 100 dollars for a tshirt???? screw that. hehe we saw some american girls there waiting for a taxi. 3 teenage white girls in taipei....random.

today howard and i went back to hsimen ding and bought even more vcds and cds. funked around there, then later on we went to eat chinese pancakes!!! oh so good. and apple sidra is the shizznit. and as usual here in taiwan, i ate too much. went back to a night market to buy some more stuff, and yea. ive spent so much money whilst here. i hope i can fit everything into my suitcase...that may be tough. well its 12:47. i leave at 7am to the airport. lets hope i can make it...till the next time taiwan!

YEA!!! im so giddy. yea so today was basically wake up...eat, glamour shots, eat, mahjong, watch tv. OH YEA! tomm imma gonna spend more money, gifts gifts gifts!

but ok, some randomness:

-Piper Perabo annoyes the crap out of me in Coyote Ugly

-Howard has been in the shower for a long time...

-Trip to Taiwan = lots of food and weight gain

-Speaking of which...the five hours i spent taking glamour shots has been the longest that I have gone without eating in the past week, not counting time spent sleeping. too much food.

-I should stop biting my nails. Its a bad habit.

-Today, I was Derelict, a la Zoolander. Go glamour shots. har har.

-Stuff is cheap to buy here, but then you buy too much. I was broke when I got here, got money, and I will be broke when i leave.

-mmm....I'm having a blast here...but home....

merry christmas from taiwan! yes this is about 13 or 14 hours before all of you may be enjoying the day of christmas, but yea. this doesnt feel like christmas at all. no snow, no santa, nada. kinda sucks. yea i barely even remembered that today...well, yesterday technically, was christmas eve. hehe i "celebrated" by going to hsimen ding, one of the night markets here. glamour shots on thursday! and oogurt, cd's is bought for you. but sadness, no NET shirts that say NET like you wanted :(

hehe, setting up the appt for the glamour shots was amusing. it was me, catherine, howa, and my cousin. my cousin is from here with broken english, better than my mandarin. howard is pretty good in taiwanese, and catherine has decent taiwanese. and well...hahaha it was just really funny watching catherine and the sales lday go at it trying to figure stuff out. ppl would walk by and stare at us because catherine would talk so loud and the sales lady did too, and yea...highly amusing. hehehe. yea you had to be there...

oh and marge! we took apicture in the same spot you all did when you chris cc gill etc were at hsimen ding. how cool is that!?!?!?

im sick. not allergies any more i think, just sick. boooooo. but yea i hope y'all have a merry christmas or just happy holidays, happy birthday Jesus!

movies movies movies. taiwan tv has a lot of good us movie channels. my favorite so far is probably....sleepless in seattle. good film. and i saw the lord of the rings 2 with my cousin the other day. that was also good. taiwan theatres weird. but what did suck was when they characters would speak in elvish...no english subtitles, only chinese. arg barg!

hello boys and girls. dang...i had something i wanted to blog about, but now i cannot remember. well that just isnt cool. back in taipei now, chillin at the grandpadres casa. i just got done playing some mah-jong. my grandma is a pimpstress in mah-jong, and she helped me while i subbed for her against her friends and my aunt. haha i lost some of her money. her friend is also a mah-jong pimpstress.

my cousins are chilling with me too. i just met one of them for the first time tonight. unfortunately my lack of good mandarin and total lack of taiwanese besides a few phrases dealing with eating...we cannot really talk. kinda sucks. i wonder how close i wil be to the majority of my cousins when i grow up cuz like...i cant communicate with half of them. yea das not so cool. i need to learn.\

oh yes, i remember what i wanted to say now, thanks to it coming onto tv. THANK GOD that the "Ketchup Song" hasnt hit the US...unless it has while ive been over here. fo real though, the Ketchup Song, by a group called Las Ketchup (im not lying here) is basically a 2002 version of the macarena...except A WHOLE HECKOVA LOT MORE ANNOYING. oh man its so bad. i hope you guys dont have to deal with this over in the state, cuz...its highly annoying. the dance to the song is so simple that its dumbnifying. see i dont even know if that was a word. thats how dumb the song is making me by simply watching it once. STEER CLEAR OF THE KETCHUP SONG.

ahem. so yeas, howard should be arriving in taipei tomm, and catherine yeh sent me an email saying she was here in taipei too! i had no idea. hehe i called her twice and well...its been tough trying to ask for her over the phone in my non-fluent mandarin, hehe. yea i'll try again tomm....later kids.

and im back! woohoo, its been way too long being offline. aiyo.

well since i last left you all, i went on a west coast tour of taiwan with my dads school to show some doctors from beijing around. the first night we picked them up and then went to this really nice hotel outside of taipei. i asked myself "am i in taipei or in europe", because the hotel and the surrounding areas all had european architecture. its was funky. the rooms were sweet too, complete with living, dining rooms, and a full kitchen. i went out for a walk and it was really nicxe and peaceful, and they had a large amount of christmas lights up. a laaaarge amount.

next day we hit up taichung, visited at high school and a grade school and other stuff. pretty much what i did all day wednesday and thursday was follow the group around and answer questions from other ppl about where i was from, what i was studying, how well my chinese or taiwanese was...yea fun times let me tell you. oh and the food that i was served was CRAZY. the things i was served, and ate out of respect, were weird. things of those shapes, colors, and textures do not appeal to me. thanfully they always served good fruit at the end of the meal. go asian pears and guava.

yea all the sites that we have been visiting are buddhist places, so they are like super extra nice. all the meals are pretty big, and haha, everytime we get off the bus at a new place, all of the ppl at the place line up on each side and sing this song and clap as we walk by. its like 80-some ppl, on each side, welcoming you. i dont know what to do when im walking through the procession. i either stare at the ground and laugh at how weird it is that a hundred ppl are welcoming us like this, or if im adventurous i'll look up at ppl and bow my head every so often.

oh yea, we visited Sun Moon Lake, that was pretty darn beautiful. it was like when i was in Lucern, Switzerland, we went to the top of this hotel and it overlookd a lake in the mountains. i love lakes in the mountains. they are f-ing pretty.

yesterday we were in tainan at another temple, and howa powa was able to join me. that was cool. hehe everyone was impressed with howa's taiwanese. good job howa, way to be. left for kaoshiung after that, etc etc. i dont think anything else was too exciting. and then we flew back to haulien last night, and i finally got to sleep in today at my dads apt. and now im at my dads office online....hurrah!

oh yes sadness however. pauline called me a few minutes ago...and we wont be able to meet up :(. tsunah leaves taipei on sunday morning, which is when i go back there, and tsunah comes back on monday, which is the day after i leave taipei :(. booooooo. dat sucks.

so yeup. so far my trip has been pretty much just me looking at random stuff. its been ok i guess. bus rides up mountains however suck. next week should be fun though, howa and i getting glamour shots in taipei. AWWWWW YEEEEAAAAA! ok well, im sure ill be back blogging later if i forgot anything...

ok ok ok, well, almost time to leave, but hey, theres always time for a blog. so my mom is trying to sell crepes now at the ice cream place. totally bad idea in my opinion, but that of course doesnt matter. but hey thats not the story. my mom was making crepes and trying to get ppl to try them out and taste them. so there were some ppl walking by, and my mom would stand there and be like , would you like to try a crepe? nothing bad. but then this one time she asked this girl "Would you like to try a piece of crepe?". and i froze. i was like "......are you kidding me....she did not just say that out loud...." . luckily however, i dont think ppl noticed, and even luckier, i dont think my mom ever used that specific phrase again. whew.

in other news...

-when the funk did howard get a xanga? that bastard never told me.

-its been 9 hours since i last ate at steak n shake, yet i feel as if i should eat because in my mind i will be going to bed soon, even though im really not for another 4 hours. well screw it, im hitting up the gas station before i go.

-im going to have my cell phone with me in taiwan, just for the sole purpose of being able to call my mom when i arrive in chicago. 99% sure it wont work in taiwan, but hey, you should all call and leave voicemails if so. yea thatll be cool.

-Susan - i bought a new hat (at abercrombie kids no less) so yea, i dont need my hat back right away.

-hit up the chatterbox thing to the left. lets get that new blog toy goin'

-well kids thats it. time for the JRL to make like a fetus and head out, y'all have a good 1 day without me signed on. i know i know it will be weird not seeing Thendxcrd on your buddy lists, but you can do it, i know you can.

la la la, its almost 6am and im chillin chillin. well today was tiring, the ice cream place was pretty busy. and well work was work, saw ppl walk by, chatted with some of them, and then after work i went over to adriennes, then to steak n shake with ajit and jake, then back to adriennes. man those steakburgers are good. i have missed them. now im back home and for the most part packed up. here is my upcoming schedule:

6am-830am: finish packing, take a showa
830am: drive to airport
10am: fly out of springfield
11am: arrive in chicago.
12pm: leave for tokyo
12:01pm: pass out on airplane and sleep for the next 10-12 hours hopefully.

that my friends, would be good. 15 hour flight...oy. i hope i have an empty seat next to me, but sadly im pretty sure the plane will be packed. tis the season ya know. so yea, i have a 23 hour and 5 minute trek ahead of me from the time a leave springfield to the time i land in taipei. yea...this'll be fun...

dang i gotta get busy for taiwan tomm...so much to do yet so little time if i have to work at the ice cream place. askj;alsdk;asd, crap on a stick. but hey tonight was fun after i was able to escape the ice cream place. while working though i saw tons of ppl, and unfortunately not able to talk to everyone cause they came around all at once. but lets see, first i saw heather trammel, and then while i was talking to her and helping customers, jill and tyler campo walked by but i was only able to say hi to them, yea definately havent talked to jill in forever. and i cant spell adverbs tonight. anyways, went back to talk to heather and adrienne and jake visited then went back off since i was busy. brian price then came. hehe i dont know if he knew who i was, but hey he was springfield highs star bball player 3 years ago, but i didnt ask him about basketball. i should have, hah. anyhoo, jake and adrienne came back and talked etc etc, then they left. a few minutes later whitney luke walked by! hurraaah. i havent seen whitney in so long, man, way too long. so yea, oooh jon get whitneys d-i-g-i-t-s. yea she told me to call her over spring break 2 years ago and i didnt. i must call her this time after i come back from taiwan. everyone, remind me. but yea, susan simlutaneously walked up at the same time as well. hehe i couldnt really talk to susan, SORRY SUSAN :( . but yea i need to get my hat from you, so uh, i hope you read this before sunday...and if not imma gonna call you, cuz yea, need that hat, heh. man, too many ppl too fast. but hey thats a whole lot better than no people at all.

went to adriennes after work. hung out with adrienne and jake. adrienne made us pizza rolls. delicious. then adrienne and i talked till 3am. thats why im bloggin at 4am. woohoo. i need sleep.

yea not much else, today was nice and easy. haircut and chilled basically. i have not fully come to the realization that i have 1 month ahead of me with no school whatsoever. good stuff.

and lastly, these new stories about britney spears / justin timberlake / joey fatones t-shirt are all highly amusing.

well its 11:25 and its a half hour before my final. so what do i do? i blog! wahahah.

-oreo cookies are delicious, especially when dipped in milk. Everybody loves oreos dipped in milk, unless maybe if you are lactose intolerant. however, if you dont like oreos dipped and milk and are not lactose intolerant, you are not human.

-finals week is great for picking clothes to wear to class. Jon Lee's count: 3 days this week, 1 outfit for all 3 days. go hooded sweatshirts and cargo pants.

-oreos do however leave an abundant amount of chocolate cookie debris in your teeth and the sides of your mouth.

-i need to learn the correct way to work out the obliques, i dont think my lower back should be in such pain like it is right now.

-i will spend nearly two full days in an airplane during the next 2 weeks.

-i am seeing how fast/well i can grow out my facial hair. the mustache is coming in quickly, while my goatee area has baby fuzz then about 6 stalks of stickly hair. sideburns, well sad times for the sideburns area :(

-easiest finals ever, 1 on monday, 1 on tuesday. and thats it. and i could even be able to pull out a 4.0....

and im back! after a 24 hour hiatus from normal function of my computer i return. but you know what sucks? ill tell you now. i was copying my old hard drive to my new one. it was going to take 24 hours and like 15 minutes to do. so i let it run and dont use my comp. this afternoon at 5 it gets down to about 10 minutes and all looks well. i go back to watch tv, and when i come back, AN ERROR OCCURED. opasd;lasdkl;asdkasd. right right ok so at 99%, thats NINETY NINE PERCENT, the program had an error and made it worthless. after TWENTY FOUR HOURS, with only about FIVE minutes left to go, there was an error. and that made it a whole f-ing waste of time. worthless crap. so yea, no new hard drive yet. i cant belive it stopped at 99%.....blah.

so yea i didnt care about the new hard drive after that, i instead have deleted a bunch of things, and matt and i beat the new ghost recon in 1 day, good for us. and of course now that i am back, heres a new picture!!!

ahaha oh man, i wonder what the comments for this will say.....

man...the music from the wonder years is so good. althought it makes me sad and i want to go back to junior high and be little all over again. i want to come home on the bus play football in seans backyard or basketball in jws driveway in the cool crisp fall weather. that was the life man. i had everything to look forward to. but hey thats life, growing up can blow. if only i would have known then how much id miss it. haha i sound like a yearbook. but for real, to be little, well not little, to be medium again. to be at the beginning of the teens and not at the end. blah. I WANT TO BE MEDIUM AGAIN.

on a lighter note my winamp playlist goes from Original Music From The Wonder Years to Outkast - Bombs Over Bagdahd. quite the sudden change let me tell you.
